One morning this week, I stepped outside and saw this, went back in for my camera, and came out to find my neighbor with his camera doing the same thing.

It turns out there is a trail to the area south of Cerro Picacho after all. I hiked it today but, alas, brought the wrong camera, with no charged batteries. I took some pictures by cell phone, but it’s not a great cell pho0ne camera and I haven’t figure out how to download them.

(Yeah, I know. “Just connect the camera to your computer with a USB cable.” My computer is running Ubuntu and apparently there isn’t a driver in the standard release. Will continue working on it.)
